24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring Service

The Department of Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion provides a 24 Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring service by appointment. GPs and Hospital Consultants can refer patients.

In order to make an appointment:

  1. For Inpatients: Completed referral forms should be sent to the Department. (Address given below)
  2. Contact the Department by telephone on (01) 2214958 or write to the Department at the following address:

Smoking Advice Service

The department offers a service to hospital patients who wish to stop smoking. These services include:

  • Individual inpatient and outpatient consultations and follow-up support
  • Six-week stop smoking courses, from September to June of each year.

Hospital staff can refer patients to the service by filling out a referral form, which is available on wards and in outpatient clinics.

  1. For inpatients: Forms should be left in the smoking cessation holder on each ward.
  2. For out-patients: Forms should be sent in internal mail to the Department of Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion.
