Overview of the Department
Nursing HR supports over a thousand nurses working in various roles and positions throughout the Hospital. The role of the division is to provide a high quality HR service to Nurse Managers and to individual members of nursing staff members as they care for and support our patients. We implement human resource policies, initiatives, and actions which are effective in recruiting and developing a highly competent workforce. We facilitate nurses in their essential role delivering our high levels of patient care both directly and in their multi-disciplinary teams. Here in HR we want to support you and make it easier for you to look after the patients of this Hospital.
We provide support through many interventions including the following:
- Recruitment and Retention
- Performance Management
- Managing Attendance
- Promoting skills and development
- Administration of various leave entitlements
- Advice and guidance on employment legislation
- Implementation of Best Practice HR

There are two Nursing HR offices situated on the main corridor of the Hospital: the General office and the Recruitment office. The main office is located on the hallway going to the chapel and is the first door on the right just past the post room. The Nursing Recruitment Office is three doors down from the general office.
The Nursing HR Department is open from 8am until 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and from 8am to 4.30pm on Friday.
