The staff, management and union representatives in St Vincent's University Hospital have made significant accomplishments in 2008 in working together to improve patient services, in line with the Hospital's Mission Statement, “Excellence in Clinical Care, Education and Research..”.
Team Working & Training Provided
As part of the foundation of this project the numbers of teams participating in Team Based Performance Management significantly increased in 2008. The number of training courses provided also significantly increased from 258 courses in 2007, involving 3552 staff to 353 training courses in 2008, involving 5059 staff.
Feedback indicated very high levels of satisfaction ranging from 69% to 71% of expectations met in addition to 23% to 30% where expectations were exceeded on transfer of learning to workplace, relevance to the job, improvement in work performance and contribution to the team.
The Hospital have built up Partnership (formally) and partnership on a practical level over many years, with the intention of having closer and stronger involvement of all of the partners in the organisation, in delivering an excellent service to our patients: present and future.
In 2009, a key challenge for partnership in SVUH will be to focus on maintaining, and continuously improving services to patients in line with the Hospital’s Mission of Excellence in Clinical Care, in Research and Education, in Advocacy, Justice, Quality, Compassion and Human Dignity, by drawing on the talents and creativity of all staff.
