Palliative Medicine Outpatient Clinic

The new Palliative Medicine Outpatient Clinic is up and running at St. Vincent’s University Hospital. Patients are seen from the St. Vincent’s Healthcare Group catchment area of Southeast Dublin and East Wicklow. All patients with a life limiting illness, whether with a diagnosis of cancer or non-cancer, can be referred, and referrals are accepted for patients at any stage of their illness. As a specialist medical clinic, the focus will be on symptom assessment/management, but broader supportive care, including management of psychosocial distress and liaison with specialist palliative care services in hospice and the community, will also be provided.

The clinic takes place on a Thursday afternoon, and appointments can be arranged by contacting Ms. Joan Stokes on 01 2214587.
