Employee Relations Division

The role of the Employee Relations Division is to provide hospital management and employees with the appropriate advice, assistance and training on all matter relating to employer/ employee relations issues. On-going support of service delivery mangers throughout the hospital and ensuring compliance with local and national agreements are key tasks for this Division.

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Human Resources the Employee Relations Division operates as an expert source of information and support for managers and employees. We provide objective advice; interpretation and guidance based on current employment laws and hospital policies. Other services include help with issues such as job evaluation, employee support, mediation and performance management, problem solving and conflict resolution strategies.

The Employee Relations Division ensures that employee relations issues are handled effectively and expediently in order to improve workplace productivity and morale. Technical advice and assistance is available on all matters pertaining to employee conduct and performance. The Division is available to conduct training sessions on a variety of topics, from leave and attendance management to preventing violence in the workplace. The Division also acts as a resource in relation to employee relations topics for the three HR operational areas, i.e., Medical, Nursing and Clinical, Administrative and General Services (CAGS).

The Hospital has a strong emphasis on the use of effective use of partnership between line managers and staff and continuously promotes and develops this active partnership, with staff representatives and their organisations.

The Employee Relations Division represents the Hospital at third party hearings and various national level committees.

Hours of Service: We are available Monday to Friday from 8.30am-5.00pm (open through lunch)

Location: The HR Offices are located to the right of the Nutley Lane entrance door close to the motorcycle parking area.
