Medical Human Resources

The Medical Human Resources division provides an expert and comprehensive service to in excess of 450 Medical staff (NCHDs and Consultants) in all aspects of Medical HR as well as a comprehensive administrative support service and assistance to the Chair of the Medical Board and other Medical led Committees.

Medical HR is responsible for resource planning and the management of recruitment for all Consultant and NCHD posts including Interns, Senior House Officers, Registrars & Specialist Registrars employed by St. Vincentís University Hospital.

Hours of Service: We are available Monday to Friday from 7:30am – 5:00pm.

Location: We are currently located in the HR Department; the Medical Human Resources Offices are located to the right of the Nutley Lane entrance door close to the motorcycle parking area.

The following personnel/administrative duties also come under the responsibility of Medical HR:

  • Compilation and management of General Medical & Surgical Rotas
  • NCHD Monthly Overtime claims
  • NCHD Educational Grant Claims
  • Education Fund Claims
  • Administrative and secretarial support to the Co-ordinator of Postgraduate Education. (Working closely with medical colleagues to provide appropriate support to the Co-ordinator to facilitate all aspects of the programme: planning, organising and delivery of the annual work programme and related activities)
  • Consultant Continuous Medical Education Claims
  • Mileage Claims
  • Telephone Claims
  • Advice on all aspects of the NCHD & Consultant contract
  • Induction program for all NCHDs on a bi-annual basis, including organising ICT access, Swipe Cards, Car Park etc.
  • 1:1 Tailored Induction process for New Consultant Staff
  • Recording and production of data relating to NCHD working hours in line with the European Working Time Directive (EWTD)
  • Management of temporary/locum contracts
  • Completion of Financial Implication forms for submission to HSE
