Adult Psychiatry: In-patient unit


Two Senior Occupational Therapists are allocated to this service area and provide both individual and group interventions. 

Referrals are made by Inpatient Consultant Teams. 

Occupational Therapists in a mental health environment work within a multidisciplinary team and focus on empowering individuals to gain life skills and gain a greater sense of control over their illness. The primary aim is to enable people to participate in occupations or activities that provide meaning and purpose to their lives.

Interventions provided include: Relaxation, Anxiety Management, Goal Setting, Leisure Enhancement, Life Skills, Stress Management, Diversional Groups and Functional Assessments.  

Adult Psychiatry: 1 Senior and 1 staff grade (rotational)

Service hours 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday
