St. Vincent’s University Hospital Health Fair – Tuesday 10th April

5th April 2018

Health Fair, 10th April, 1st Floor Atrium, 10.00 to 15.00

Next Tuesday, St. Vincent’s University Hospital (SVUH) is running a Health Fair providing a great opportunity to learn about many of the services available to; staff, patients and the community. There will be over 30 information stands on display with representation from both hospital departments, such as the Physiotherapy Department and Health Promotion, as well as external organisations such as the Irish Heart Foundation and Men’s Sheds Ireland.

The theme of the Health Fair is “Prevention, Early Detection and Self Care”, in keeping with Healthy Ireland aspirations for improving health and wellbeing and reducing the burden of chronic disease.

This one day event aims to share knowledge from professionals through informative visual displays, interactive exhibits and demonstrations. Those attending will also have the chance to practice lifesaving skills with the Resuscitation Team, get their Body Mass Index and blood pressure checked as well as much more. A raffle will take place with spot prizes on offer for all attendees who complete an evaluation form.

Professor Cecily Kelleher, Consultant in Preventative Medicine,  at SVUH  commented “the hospital has a flagship role in promoting health and wellbeing and the community is welcome to attend”, while Professor Patricia Fitzpatrick, Consultant in Preventative Medicine, SVUH has said “this Health Fair will be interesting and an informative event” .

Attendance is free and open to everyone.
