Research & referrals
Referral Information
- We accept referrals from GPs, hospital consultants, and other clinicians, as well as self-referrals for certain outpatient services.
- GPs should submit referrals electronically using Healthlink.
- Due to high demand, appointments are allocated based on clinical need.
- Non-attendance without prior notice may result in discharge from the department.
Research
As a University Hospital, the Infectious Diseases Department at SVUH is dedicated to delivering evidence-based care and continuously improving treatment approaches through research.
We collaborate with the UCD Centre for Experimental Pathogen Host Research (CEPHR) to conduct ongoing studies aimed at advancing infectious disease management.
Participation in research is entirely voluntary and will not affect the standard of care you receive.
