Blood Tests:ALL OTHER (Non-GP) Patients
Please note: This is for Outpatients and SVUH Consultant patient’s bloods. Patients who book/arrive with GP request forms will NOT be facilitated at OPD blood.

The Phlebotomy Service is strictly by appointment only.
EITHER
- If you are attending for blood tests on the same day as your OPD appointment, then your Clinician will prepare an electronic order for your blood tests. Please proceed directly to the Phlebotomy Clinic.
- When you arrive at the Phlebotomy Clinic for your blood test, please check in using the kiosk. You will be provided with the next available time slot. Take a seat until you are called on one of the screens.

- Please make your appointment for blood tests:
- via the hospital website stvincents.ie, in the link below for blood tests (ALL OTHER – Non GP Blood Tests)
- or by phone to the booking service 01 291 6188 (phone lines available Monday to Friday 11am to 3pm)
- We recommend you book your appointment 6-8 weeks in advance in order to ensure your preferred date can be accommodated.
- When you arrive at the Phlebotomy Clinic for your blood test, please check in at the kiosk and take a seat until you are called on one of the screens
Who: The Phlebotomy Service is available to patients who are 16 years of age or older
Where: The phlebotomy clinic is located on the 1st Floor ADCC (opposite St Mark’s Ward)
When: This clinic is open for Non-GP patients from 08:00 to 16:00 Monday – Friday
Fasting
Your clinician will inform you if you are required to fast before your blood test. For tests that require fasting, fasting for more than 8 hours prior to having your blood tests is recommended.
Fasting patients should book their appointments as early as possible in the day
Patients attending for regular blood tests that have been ordered by their clinical team can book online via SwiftQueue and attend within 15 minutes of their appointment time.
ALL OTHER – Non GP Blood Tests
On Arrival to the hospital, please check in at the kiosk located inside the main entrance, then proceed to the waiting area on the first floor allied health therapy.
