Meet the consultants, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, OTs and social workers who make up the multi-disciplinary team in the Emergency Department.
Sinéad Fahy – GP Liaison Nurse
Sinéad graduated from St. Vincent’s University Hospital and subsequently completed the Graduate Diploma in Emergency Nursing. She has worked in a number of Emergency Departments in Ireland and Australia, both in the public and private sectors.
Allied Health Professionals
Eimear Horan – Senior Physiotherapist
Eimear is a graduate of University College Dublin and has been working in our Emergency Department since 2012 where the physiotherapy service includes acute respiratory care, early rehabilitation and musculoskeletal management. Eimear is the physiotherapy representative on the Acute Medicine Programme, Health and Social Care Professionals implementation group.
Aoife Ryan – Social Worker
Aoife is a graduate of the School of Social Work and Social Policy, Trinity College Dublin. She graduated with a Masters in Professional Social Work and is a CORU-registered practitioner. She has experience in general surgery here in St. Vincent’s University Hospital, radiation oncology services and fostering social work.
Ruth Staunton – Occupational Therapist
Ruth is a graduate of the School of Occupational Therapy, Trinity College Dublin. She has worked in a diverse range of settings, including adult brain injury, paediatric primary care, acute medicine, stroke rehabilitation and psychiatry of old age. She is AMPS trained and is a member of the HSCP Implementation Group for the National Clinical Programme for Acute Medicine
Emergency Department Administration
Gaye is responsible for the medical administration services within the Emergency Department. Gaye has worked in the financial services industry both in London and Dublin as well as spending time overseas with Concern Worldwide as a General Systems Manager in East Timor and IT officer in Cambodia.
Jennifer manages the administration areas in the Emergency Department, i.e. registration/reception and Central Station. Jennifer has worked in St. Vincent’s University Hospital since 2003 and gained a range of experience in a variety of departments before joining the Emergency Department in 2011.
